Lititz Farm Engagement Session

When Kam and Amber contacted me a few days before their engagement session and asked me if they could switch up their session location to a farm where Kam used to work, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I don’t typically do farm sessions, but I was up for the challenge and gladly said, “Sure!” Turns out, it’s a farm owned by a couple I know from church, and and also happens to be right up the road from where I used to work when I managed an office for a small paving company…small world, right? And boy was I in for a pleasant surprise when we started wandering around the farm and found all these beautiful spots to take pictures in! But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me introduce you to Kam and Amber. I’ve actually known Kam’s parents for many years from attending church together. And I couldn’t have been more excited when Kam contacted me, inquiring about wedding photography for he and his fiance, a sweet girl named Amber! The past year has actually been a whirlwind of weddings for his family, I think this is the 4th wedding in 14 months, with Kam and Amber’s being the last among all his siblings. Wow! So basically they’re like wedding pros now :) And while Kam and Amber’s wedding might have some similarities with his siblings’ weddings, I’m excited to see how they make their big day unique to their personalities and their love story.

But anyway, back to the engagement session. We got to meet Kam and Amber for a little dinner before their session, and let me tell you, they are so much fun to be around. I wish that from these photos you could not only see how in love with each other they are, but also how great of people they are. Kind, gracious, funny. So, since a photo can only capture so much, let me tell you a little about them and their story.

Kam and Amber are a couple that it seems destiny even wanted them to be together. They had an almost-meeting about 5 years ago, and numbers were exchanged, but nothing ever happened. Kam, however, somehow knew that this number was not one that he should erase. Fast forward 4 years, when the timing was right, even though neither of them knew it, and Kam changed his facebook photo. A message saying “Amber has liked your new facebook photo” encouraged him to reach out again, she responded… and their lives would never be the same. (sound off in the comments who you think gets the credit for making the first move, and which one was the first move?) ;)

Have you ever heard one of those engagement stories and said to yourself, “I wish I had thought of that?” Well, get ready… Kam, ever the romantic, had a photographer stage a giveaway session contest and encouraged Amber to enter. When she won, of course, they would get dressed up and go out to some romantic place, with a photographer, and take some nice pictures of the two of them. So, they were all dressed up for this photo shoot, photographer and everything, get out to this gorgeous location, and he gets down on one knee and pops the question. So, with their photographer friend capturing every beautiful, romantic second, Amber said yes to the love of her life.

When Matt and I were engaged there was a time when we were talking about our schedules and we realized that everything we had coming up for the next few months was the same on both of our calendars. We looked at each other and said, Hhmmm, we’re a “we.” It was such a small moment, and one that comes, I would imagine, in every married couple’s life at some point, (most times without anyone noticing) but for us, it’s a comment we have always remembered and say quite often to each other. Within five minutes of meeting Kam and Amber, by their quick laughter, easy smiles, and finishing each others sentences, it is easily apparent that they, are a “we.”

My husband and I now call them Kamber. And from what we hear, we’re not the only ones. :)

Here are just a few of my favorites from their beautiful golden hour farm session!

Thanks for wandering around this beautiful farm with us, Kam and Amber, we had so much fun, and can’t wait til your wedding in November!
