Haley was the one of the lucky winners of my couple’s session giveaway earlier this year, and when I contacted her to congratulate her and chat about setting up her session, she told me that she and Dom had recently gotten engaged so she wanted to use the giveaway session for engagement photos. I said, Yes, absolutely!!
Of course, one of the hardest things about portrait sessions is the unpredictability of the weather. Just a few days before we were scheduled to do Haley and Dom’s engagement session, a crazy storm blew through the area, and one of the spots that was hit the hardest was Long’s Park, where we had planned to do their session. The storm took out about 80 trees in the park, many of which were over 150 years old. So we decided to reschedule for a few weeks later. And we ended up with the most beautiful evening! The golden hour sunlight was glowing in the water and you could hardly tell that there had been a ton of storm damage around the park just a few weeks prior!
It was great to meet this cute couple and hang out with them during their engagement session. You know they’re a laid-back, fun-loving couple when we asked if they had any poses in particular they wanted to do and they replied: “piggy-back!”
Here are a few of my favorites from their session, including a couple of those fun piggy-back shots :)
