I first met Charlie and Madison at a wedding I photographed earlier this year where Charlie was a groomsman. As we chatted at the reception, they joked that they were getting close to being engaged, and that I might be getting a call in the near future about booking wedding photography for them. I handed Madison my card and said I’d love to get that call! To my delight, not even 2 months later, Madison contacted me saying they were officially engaged! They have actually been together quite a long time, after meeting through a mutual friend when they were 15. I love hearing high school sweetheart stories, like how Charlie and Madison have been getting to know each other and dreaming about their future together for almost a decade now. In addition to their devotion to one another, one thing’s for sure, farming will definitely play an important role in their life. So when deciding where to do Charlie and Madison’s engagement session, it was a no-brainer for us to do it at her family farm, which had so many great spots for photos! Of course, every country boy also has another love that we couldn’t leave out of the session - the pickup truck! So after we captured some cute shots with Charlie’s truck, we wandered around the beautiful property and it was easy to see how perfect a location it was for the two of them. They are such a genuine, down-to-earth couple, and I loved seeing them make each other laugh. We had such a fun time at their engagement session, and I’m so excited for their wedding next Fall!
In keeping with the farm theme, it made more sense to do the ring detail pictures with soybeans and corn than with flowers. And speaking of the ring, how incredibly gorgeous is this ring?! Charlie designed it, and I think it turned out amazing!!
