What started out as a less-than-perfect first date eventually brought these two together at the altar several years later, saying their vows and committing their lives to each other. I’m glad they didn’t let that first date keep them from pursuing a relationship, as it’s clear to see, it was all worth it to get them to the point they’re at now. And the day they chose couldn’t have been more beautiful! They love to be out in nature by the water, and we did their engagement session last year at Chiques Rock, overlooking the Susquehanna River. So it was perfectly fitting that they decided to gather with their family and friends at the gorgeous Sickman’s Mill, which sits along the Pequea Creek in Lancaster County.
It was an emotional day for sure, from the first look between Larissa and her uncle, to the tearful walk down the aisle. I had to hold back my own tears at times as the emotions were high. But as I glanced around at everyone gathered to witness this ceremony, I saw nothing but joy and happiness for these two. And as a little side note, we met Tristan and Larissa through good friends of ours, which made the ceremony even more fun, looking out into the crowd and seeing familiar faces!
The weather we had was absolutely perfect, with the summer sun falling on us and giving everything a beautiful warm glow! The details featured the lovely flowers all done by Tristan’s mother, which included some cool driftwood as a unique addition. But the detail that I think really stole the show was Larissa’s embellished capelet that she wore over her simple, elegant wedding gown. It added such a beautiful, chic element to polish off her entire wedding look!
Here’s a look at some of my favorite images from the day. Tristan and Larissa, thank you so much for having us capture your wedding day, it was such an honor!!
