Ian & Kristinn // Wedding // River's Edge at Long Level, Wrightsville, PA

Rivers Edge at Long Level Wedding, Wrightsville PA Wedding, garden wedding, riverfront wedding

Let me start this wedding blog post by saying… Having been married for over a decade, I can confidently say, finding someone who, when you look in their eyes, it just makes your stress melt away, is so special. Anything that might be going wrong, random annoyances… completely disappear, and it’s such a good thing, no, an amazing thing. Not to say that those troubles are gone for good, but just a split second. Sometimes all you need is a split second to see things with a new perspective and everything is so much better.

Ian and Kristinn’s day went without any real hitches. There was the wind by the waterside, the little severe storm warning, and there were all the normal things that happen in the background of a typical wedding day. But everything went smoothly and beautifully. I will let you in on a little secret though, most of the weddings my husband and I have photographed, the bride, or the groom, or sometimes even both, are nervous that something is going to go wrong during the day. It’s amazing getting to see the moment when the couple first gets to see each other on their wedding day, and you can see any nerves or fears fall away. Seeing Ian and Kristinn together, how they are that still quiet place for each other… It is obvious to see that they have found a good thing, no, an amazing thing.

By the way, this wedding by the waterside with all the pastel colors, and the gray (almost silver) suit… does anyone else get “The Great Gatsby” best garden party ever vibes? I’m totally picking up those vibes.

Kristinn and Ian’s gorgeous wedding has me wishing for many more waterfront weddings with beautiful garden party vibes in the future! Despite the impending storms, it was a perfect day, from starting out getting ready in the newly renovated River’s Edge building, to the spring garden palette, to the ceremony right by the water, and of course the white tent reception that let a ton of natural light in but was enclosed to keep everything from blowing away when the winds picked up, which we did have concerns about as the weather turned stormy! But one of my absolute favorite parts of the day was the dance party that took place out on the patio, and continued the whole evening, even when it got super windy and started raining! Nothing could stop Kristinn and Ian’s friends and family from having the best time celebrating them along the river, which actually felt kinda like we were on a cruise ship deck, especially when the wind picked up!

Anyway, all that to say Kristinn and Ian were amazing to work with and I’m so glad we were able to help document this special day for them!
